Power Wheels Recall Summaries
Power Wheels, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, announced a voluntary recall program to replace parts for all 12V and Super 6V products purchased and manufactured before 10/22/98. It was found that the electrical components in these vehicles can overheat and cause melting, fires, or the inability to stop the toy which may lead to injury.
Repair: Modification kits that include electrical connectors for the harness, battery, and battery charger, and a tamper-resistant, auto-resetting thermal fuse which will permanently attach to the battery (only to be used on 6v red batteries with a fuse holder and white connectors).
